If you’re a city slicker, our Best of Spain Tour is perfect for you - you’ll visit Spain’s four largest and most exciting cities. This ten-day tour combines the best of Spain’s historical sights, celebrated music, incredible tapas, and delicious wine. Start in Barcelona, where you’ll be enchanted by the fusion of beach culture and history. Next, you’ll head south along the Mediteraean coast to the oceanfront city of Valencia, home of Paella and the City of Arts and Sciences. After this, it’s time to head inland to Spain’s majestic capital, Madrid - home to world-class art galleries, museums, and royal palaces. Finish your Spain tour in style with a flamenco show in Seville. With Tourlane, you’re able to book flights, transfers, accommodations, and guides, all in one place!
1. Barcelona
Start the Best of Spain Tour in Barcelona, where art meets culture, and city streets exude a calmer pace of life. Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces dot the cityscape —wait until you see the iconic La Sagrada Familia. Take a snapshot of this masterpiece before exploring the charming Gothic Quarter. In the evening, catch the sunset in Barceloneta, Barcelona’s beachfront district, and enjoy the pleasures of being on the ocean while remaining in the city.
2. Valencia
In Valencia, visit the cathedral and La Lonja, two of the city's gems, and you’ll see how the city’s Gothic style has remained virtually intact since the 10th century. For something more contemporary, visit the City of Arts and Sciences, an extraordinary complex of museums, galleries, and cinemas designed by local star architect Santiago Calatrava. After a siesta in the afternoon, walk the streets of the El Carmen district, where colorful murals by local artists mesh with historical museums.
3. Madrid
Your Tourlane Travel Expert will organize a private panoramic tour of Madrid, which will cover all of the city’s most important attractions, including the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens, Campo del Moro, and the Prado Museum, as well as the church of San Francisco El Grande. In the evening, go for a bite in Lavapiés, Madrid’s vibrant multicultural neighborhood, and don’t forget to try some patatas bravas—a small dish of potatoes with a fiery sauce—in one of the many restaurants.
4. Seville
Last but not least on your Best of Spain Tour is Seville, the birthplace of flamenco and tapas. Go on a walking tour and explore the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the Jewish quarter, and visit Seville Cathedral, officially the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. In the evening, live the magic of a flamenco show over dinner—don’t miss out on the jamón ibérico and the Manzanilla wine. If you’re interested, you’ll get the chance to dance flamenco yourself, the perfect end to your Spain tour. Ask your Tourlane Travel Expert for insider tips and recommendations.
