Greek Islands Tour: Athens, Paros & Milos

As with any Athens tour, you can’t miss the Acropolis. But there’s plenty more to see in Athens, including the Roman Temple of Olympic Zeus and the Panathinaikon Stadium, site of the first modern Olympic games in 1896. Find a shaded Taverna in the Plaka district, where you can enjoy Moussaka and stuffed vine leaves in the shadow of the Parthenon, the ancient temple that dominates any view in this timeless city.

Milos is as captivating by land as it is by sea. Visit the ancient Amphitheater for a gorgeous view of Milos Bay. Set sail on a tour around the island, in search of isolated coves and sandy beaches. Drop anchor at Kleftiko, where isolated coves and pools were beloved by pirates and smugglers for centuries. Today, take the opportunity to dive from your boat into the deep, refreshing water of this magical coastline. 

Paros is famed for the fine white marble used to make its villages, making it one of Greece’s most beautiful islands. Wander the maze-like streets of Parikia, the island’s capital, stopping off to wonder at the Byzantine frescoes on the Panagia Ekatontapiliani, a Byzantine church dating from 326 AD. Try your hand at kitesurfing on the eastern coast of the island, before returning to the beach for barbecued octopus and an ice cold Mythos beer.
