4. Place de la Concorde

When in Paris, be sure to visit the largest square in the city, which is also a place of great historical significance. The Place de la Concorde, completed in 1772, is a stately walk, featuring tiered fountains and a 75-foot obelisk, a gift from Egypt in 1833. Milling among the happy crowds, you may find it hard to imagine that this was once the site of many famous executions during the French Revolution, including Marie Antoinette.

5. Eiffel Tower
